A new poll by Electoral Calculus and Find Out Now for GB News, asking whether Keir Starmer should remain as Prime Minister or resign, shows a majority (54pc) of the public want him to step down. The findings reflect a Prime Minister facing a crisis of confidence with only 21pc of the public wanting him to remain in post.
Public trust in his leadership appears to be sinking, with doubts cutting across age groups and party lines. Even amongst young voters, his support appears to be wavering with almost half (45pc) agreeing that he should step aside and just a quarter (25pc) saying he should stay.
Labour voters are more inclined to back their leader, with half (50pc) wanting him to remain. However, this support is far from absolute, as the other half are divided between wanting him to step down (24pc) or undecided (26pc). Unsurprisingly, Reform voters delivered an almost unanimous verdict, with 91pc calling for him to go and 80pc of Conservatives also wanting him out of Number 10.
With public discontent spreading from the opposition to key segments of his own voter base, the question is no longer if Starmer's leadership is in trouble, but if he can recover.
Find Out Now polled 2,089 GB adults online between 15-16 September 2025. The sample was weighted to be representative by gender, age, social grade, other demographics and past voting patterns.
